Who are the Clowndoctors?
Our mission is to provide psychosocial support through the art of clowning and share laughter and hope with people facing challenging circumstances. From young children in hospitals to older people living with dementia, humour has the power to ignite feelings of hope and positivity, even during the darkest times. As a universally recognised comic figure, the clown has the power to bridge the gap between potential barriers, such as culture and language. we joyfully carry out our mission through four core programs, targeting four main audiences with a holistic, human-centred approach:
- Healthcare Programme was designed to provide personalised emotional support through the art of clowning to children undergoing medical treatment.
- Older Citizens Programme focuses on improving the quality of life of older adults living in nursing homes and dementia units.
- In the Disability Inclusion Programme clown artists employ a range of techniques through the art of clowning to connect with children with disabilities in a unique way.
- Emergency Smile programme aims to improve the emotional health, wellbeing, and resilience of people living in crisis settings.
How to offer 1% of your tax?
- On the eSZJA online platform, after logging in, go to the “1+1%-os nyilatkozat” tab

- Alternatively, you can enter our tax number: 18090628-1-42 in the "A civil kedvezményezett adószáma" field.

Frequently Asked Questions
Anyone who has taxable income from the previous year can allocate 1% of their tax. The donation is independent of the amount of tax paid. Currently, the average amount of the 1% donation is around 9,000-10,000 HUF. You can also donate 1% of your tax if you received a personal income tax refund this year. Believe us, every contribution is a great help to us!
You can donate 1% of your tax at any time. The important thing is that you must allocate your 1% by May 20, 2025.
Donating 1% of your personal income tax costs you nothing, but you get to decide which cause it supports. For us, it’s a huge help in continuing our work. With your 1% donation, we can reach even more sick children, and we are already in 16 hospitals across the country.

If you have a customer portal registration, the easiest way to donate 1% of your tax is through the eSZJA platform. After logging in, click on the 1+1% declaration section, search for the foundation’s name: Piros Orr Bohócdoktorok Alapítvány, or directly enter the tax number: 18090628-1-42.
On paper:
Download our declaration form by clicking here, then fill it out, place it in an envelope, and send it to NAV (National Tax and Customs Administration) by May 20, 2025. You can do this regardless of whether you’ve completed your tax return or not.
In a single tax year, you can only donate 1% of your tax to one civil organization. The NAV will consider the donation valid only if it is made to a single organization.
Through your customer portal, you can select only one organization. If you name multiple civil organizations as beneficiaries by mail, the NAV will consider your donation invalid.
It’s important to know that you can allocate both 1%+1%. You can support one civil organization and one church (or a designated budgetary purpose) with your donation. Civil organizations have a tax number (Piros Orr Bohócdoktorok Alapítvány's tax number is 18090628-1-42), while churches have a single identification number, known as a technical number.
You still have the option to allocate your 1% tax donation, even if you’ve already submitted your tax return. You can do this online or by filling out the 1% donation form and sending it to the NAV (National Tax and Customs Administration) by post. The deadline for this is May 20, 2025. You can submit the form regardless of whether your tax return has already been filed.
Every year, we bring smiles to the faces of tens of thousands of sick children in hospitals, and in addition, we bring joy to elderly homes, children’s homes, and children with disabilities.
